Who We Are

Dr. James Jackson is an economist, real estate developer and author. After achieving his most audacious financial goals, he realized that “just because you’re rich doesn’t mean you’re happy,” As a result, Dr. Jackson and his wife AnnaMarie started a foundation to share their resources with others. James began to donate his time to help international leaders overcome their pressing needs. While consulting to the President of Brazil in the 1980’s, Dr. Jackson visited a small medical clinic in Mesquite, outside Rio de Janeiro. For the first time, he witnessed doctors and nurses without resources to do their jobs, communities without access to basic healthcare, and people needlessly dying without hope. Moved with compassion, Dr. Jackson returned to his home in the mountains of Colorado. Jim and his wife AnnaMarie began to collect medical supplies in their garage to send to Brazil, and paid to deliver those life-saving items to the people who needed it most. From that first humble shipment to Brazil in 1987, the foundation of Project C.U.R.E. was laid. Today, under the leadership of Jim’s son, Dr. Douglas Jackson, Project C.U.R.E. operates an international headquarters and seven distribution warehouses in the continental United States. Project C.U.R.E. has delivered medical relief to more than 135 countries around the world, and was active in supplying U.S. hospitals with medical supplies and equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since 2000, Project C.U.R.E. has delivered over $1b in medical supplies and equipment. With approximately 35 paid staff and more than 30,000 volunteers who provide nearly 200,000 hours of donated time, Project C.U.R.E. ranks among the most effective charities. Each day, we are energized with that same vision that Dr. Jackson embraced—that a committed and dedicated group of individuals can save lives and change the course of history, one container at a time. You are invited to become a part of Project C.U.R.E.’s mission to save lives around the world.
