YMCA of Dyer County

Who We Are

Welcome to the YMCA OF DYER COUNTY.

The YMCA of Dyer County is a membership-based, volunteer-driven agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Located in Northwest Tennessee with main facility based in Dyersburg. Our mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

Our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child and when a community comes together for a common good. We are a cause-driven organization that is for youth development, for healthy living and for social responsibility. That’s because a strong community can only be achieved when we invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors.

To fulfill our mission, our YMCA provides over 62 programs within Dyer County in the areas of health and physical education, leadership and development, training, youth and family services, and youth and adult recreation. Through these programs and services we help our participants develop core character values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. In addition to offering programs and services at our location in the historic Dyersburg High School building, we also offer outreach programs throughout Dyer, Lauderdale, and Lake Counties. Together we can make a difference in our community!

The Y is a powerful association of men, women, and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility. We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health, and our neighbors. Working to strengthen our community as being a Mission Driven organization. This is done by our work in developing partnerships, defining goals and objectives, and finding funding opportunities.
