The Love Yourself Event, hosted by the S.O. What! Foundation, is a community-centered wellness and self-care experience designed to uplift, educate, and empower attendees through meaningful conversations, holistic services, and positive connection.

We are seeking friendly, dependable volunteers to support event-day operations on Saturday, February 7 at the Great Hall & Conference Center in Germantown, Tennessee. Volunteers will assist with registration, vendor and service provider support, room set-up and breakdown, speaker assistance, and guest experience support.

This is a wonderful opportunity to give back, support a mission-driven event, and be part of an inspiring day focused on wellness, self-love, and community care.

Join us on the First Saturdays of the Month for volunteer opportunities throughout the park. 

Opportunities include:

Projects will vary depending on need and number of volunteers. 

We will cancel for inclement weather. However, we will work in light rain/snow and temperatures above freezing. 

Please dress appropriately and bring water! We have gloves but you can also bring your own. 

This is a monthly volunteer opportunity, that occurs on the first Saturday of every month (barring events or unforeseen circumstances), intended to assist park staff with park projects and tasks. Parks projects and task can include: invasive plant removal, trail work, trash clean-up, storm/weather debris clean-up, gardening. Projects or task vary and will be conducted according to need.

If you need to complete community service or volunteer service hours to fulfill a requirement for scholarships, graduation, fraternity/sorority obligations, etc., let us know. If you just want to come out and help us, we would be happy to have you join us.

Volunteers should plan on meeting Ranger Brian Miller at the visitor center at 10:00am CT. Ranger Miller will brief all volunteers on the location in the park where the work will take place and the project/task to be done. Please bring bottled water with you and wear appropriate footwear/attire for the weather. Join park staff and volunteers for a lakeshore cleanup! We will meet at the Lakeview Marina at 10am.

Please weather appropriate work clothes and closed toed shoes. We will be picking up trash along the shoreline near the marina. Tools and trash bags will be provided but feel free to bring snacks and water.

Join us for our last planting in Ridgedale on Saturday, February 7th from 10am to 1pm! Our time planting in Ridgedale is rapidly coming to a close and so far there are over 300 new trees in the ground. 

Our meeting location in Ridgedale has not been decided just yet. We will send you an email update the week before the event with all the details you will need.

Join us as we help children to get:  “2 Steps Closer to Safety”.   

We would love to have you join us for this safety/education/prevention event.  
Please consider volunteering for a few hours and help us to save children!  You can help us to provide every child with our Free Child/Teen "Passport for Safety" Safety ID Packets.  Once there, we will help you to choose a station to serve, then train you on how to collect fingerprints, measure height/weight, take their picture, collect a DNA sample, collect a scent sample, or package up the passport kits.

We'll be cutting and removing invasive plant species, including privet, honeysuckle, wintercreeper, and multiflora rose. Some cutting tools and work gloves will be available for volunteers to use, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own cutting tools if they have some, such as pruning shears, loppers, and hand saws. Volunteers should bring bottled water to drink while working. 

Volunteers should plan on meeting Ranger Stephanie in the main parking lot off of Kelly Lane at 9:00am and receive instructions on where the group will be working. February 7th - We will be working to get storm debris picked up from winter storm Fern. Meet at the visitor center and we will depart from there to our work area.

*CareerQuest students interested in physical therapy and special needs would have a blast at this.

Volunteer Campground Host: Volunteer who is assisting in hospitality and maintenance functions in the campground and other park operations, and facilitates the recreational experience of the state park visitors. Duties may include but are not limited to: Camper orientation & information, Light maintenance, reporting inappropriate activities or potential maintenance hazards, park programming and collection of fees and sales. Host agrees to exercise hospitality towards campers and are visible representatives of the state park during their frequent interactions with the public. Host is required to volunteer for a minimum of 20 hours per week for no more than 9 consecutive months. 

Here is a synopsis of Spring Jam...

NCC's “Spring Jam” Spring Break experience is an annual educational event that provides a unique, artistic, and cultural experience to lower-income families and youth in Memphis, Tennessee.  This event highlights a particular country to give youth who may never experience visiting another country the opportunity to gain that experience in a mock simulation event. More than 1200 youth are expected to have this experience. This year marks our 21st year hosting this event, and we will be highlighting the country of America.

This volunteer project involves building sets to mimic the country we're highlighting this year.   Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes they wouldn't mind getting paint on, etc.  

We will spend 2 hours on a Monday afternoon to help plant onions in garden and spread leaves to help prepare the beds for spring planting!

The Children's Museum of Memphis would love for you to volunteer with us the week of CMOM's Mardi Gras Bash. 

We have many stations to prepare for the days leading up to our Mardi Gras Bash. The volunteer opportunities include laying out vinyl for the parade route, decorating, organizing the stations, moving blue blocks, etc. 

This will take place during the week of February 9th to February 13th. 

Anyone under the age of 18 must have their guardian complete a permission slip, which can be found below. Anyone over 17 will need to undergo a background check. Please email me at Paige.whipp@cmom.com to initiate the process. 

Since we work with children, we kindly request that everyone dress appropriately. The dress code will be either jeans or black pants with no holes, and a plain black t-shirt. No foul language or images will be allowed on anything. We also request that you wear closed-toe shoes.

Help maintain the display vehicles in our building. This would involve dusting the cars, checking tire pressure, and starting the engines on a regular basis.

Go Green with us!  This month we celebrate our Wetlands and Rivers in Tennessee State Parks. As the Tennessee River levels fluctuate seasonally, the shoreline collects trash. We have made tremendous progress keeping our Park shorelines clean and need to do some cleanup around the point where our large cabins are located. Join us as we do this important work and as a bonus, we will also be identifying mussel shells along the shoreline in this beautiful area!

We will meet at the Nature Center Parking lot and then move to the cleanup area.

The area is muddy, please wear shoes that can get muddy or boots if you have them.

Some gloves will be available, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Trash bags and "pickers" will be supplied.

Please dress for the weather, it is colder at the water than inland.

This event will be cancelled in the event of rain, sleet or snow (let's hope not!)

The Kingsport Public Library is looking for volunteers to help keep our library welcoming and organized. Volunteers assist with tasks such as shelving books, straightening shelves, cleaning, and pulling holds for patrons. Your time and support help us provide excellent service to our community! You can fill out this quick questionnaire to learn more about our expectations and let us know what you're looking for.

Volunteers must complete and clear a free background check prior to volunteering. All adult volunteers must sign a volunteer waiver and complete a form authorizing a background check. You can find the forms necessary and extra info here. If this paperwork is not completed within 3 days of signing up for a shift, we will reopen the shift so those seeking hours can have those opportunities.

We are partnering with our local Wild Ones Chapter to bring you a workshop on proper tree planting techniques. ISA Certified Arborist, Chris Winters, will be leading the group in a planting demonstration and discussing techniques to help ensure the success of newly planted trees. He'll also discuss the challenges your new tree will face and how to help care for them in the first few years of establishment. Join us after the demonstration to use your new skills to help plant trees in Southside Community Park.

Bledsoe Creek State Park added a pollinator garden in 2019 with the support of Friends of Bledsoe Creek State Park and a grant from the Iris Fund. With careful selection of native perennials and self seeding annuals this area has flourished. Located adjacent to the Visitor Center, it serves as a wildlife habitat, educational tool and visual interest for passersby. In every season there are tasks we can use volunteer assistance with to maintain the pollinator garden! In the spring we apply mulch and soil amendments if needed. During the summer and fall we'll be weeding and ensuring the plant markers are visible. In the winter we will put the garden to bed being careful to maintain a habitat for pollinators to overwinter. This is a family-friendly opportunity appropriate for all ages!

We can't wait to have you at Helping Mamas Knoxville! Please make sure to park in our parking lot which as you pull in will be on your right. We allow Children who are 8 years old and up to volunteer with a parent.  We have a lot of items in our warehouse that could be a hazard if they fell over so this is just to keep everyone safe. 

As a warehouse warrior you will help sort donations such as clothing and baby supplies. You can also assist with creating/decorating period kits, repackaging open/loose diapers, and organizing books, toys, etc. We need your help to keep our donations organized and going back out to children who need them!

Show Sycamore Shoals some love and join us on February 13th at 1:00 for a volunteer work day. Activities include invasive plant removal, litter pick-up, cabin cleaning, trail work, and much more! Bring your friends and family and join Ranger Jason Davis as we work to ensure that this special historic site continues to be a place for future generations to enjoy! Volunteers wishing to participate should plan on arriving at the picnic area beside the Park Visitor Center starting at 1:00pm and we will wrap up by 4:00. Bring a water bottle, gloves, and a Volunteer Spirit!

GNRC will have a booth at Seniors on the Move Day of Love and Black History hosted at Fisk University. We will share information about GNRC Aging and Disability Programing and our Medicare Counseling Program (SHIP).

Volunteers need to track how many people see the booth, greet passers-by, and give GNRC/SHIP information as appropriate. Volunteers will need to transport a folding table.

Looking for community service hours? Montgomery Bell could always use a helping hand!

We are in need of a volunteer who is interested in animal husbandry and would like to assist in cleaning the Bird of Prey Aviaries. Volunteers will meet Ranger Paige Moore at the Park Visitor Center at 9:00 AM where we will go over how to clean the Aviaries.

Volunteers may be using a pressure washer, so you must be able to walk on slippery surfaces and control a pressure washer.  Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather, closed toed shoes are required. Participants should expect to get wet. Participants should bring their own water bottle.

What's more romantic than donating your time to make your community more beautiful and resilient? Join us for a Valentine's Day planting at Parkdale Circle at Kenwood! Together, we’re growing a healthier, greener Chattanooga while building shade, beauty, and resilience for future generations. No experience is needed. We provide all tools and guidance. Come get your hands in the dirt and help make a lasting impact!

On February 14, a day of trail work and hiking will take place on the 2.5-mile section of the Cumberland Trail at the Obed Wild and Scenic River between Nemo Picnic Area and Alley Ford, adopted by TCWP in 1998.  

Participants should dress appropriately for winter weather, wear sturdy shoes or boots, and bring work gloves, loppers, small bow saws or folding saws, shovels, and grubbing tools, as well as a lunch and plenty of water. Cumberland Trail State Park personnel will also make some tools available at the event.

Participants can meet for carpooling in Oak Ridge at the Gold’s Gym/Books-A-Million parking lot (meet at the end close to S. Illinois Avenue, near Salsarita’s) in time to leave Oak Ridge at 9 a.m. Eastern, or can join the crew at Nemo Picnic Area or Rock Creek Campground at 10 a.m.  We expect to return to the trailhead around 3 p.m. (NOTE: If the weather is uncooperative—excessive rain, snow, or ice—we will reschedule for the following Saturday.)

Participants will need to sign a National Park Service volunteer form (parents’ or guardians' signature required for minors). Forms can be requested in advance from TCWP, or NPS representatives will have forms available at the event.

Spend Valentine's Day at Fall Creek Falls State Park. Where we will be sharing our Love of Birds. Participants will build wood duck nesting boxes to support local wildlife efforts. 

This hands-on program is perfect for couples, friends, or solo participants. Pairs will be making one box. Park Staff will provide materials and instruction, along with information about wood ducks and how nesting boxes help them thrive. 

If you are celebrating Valentine's Day as a couple or solo this event is for you! This event is a meaningful way to connect with others and nature.

Come join the Ranger at the Park Office to help us clean up the park! As we have recently gone through a fairly severe winter storm, we have areas around the park that need a bit more attention than usual. Please join us as we work on cleaning up storm damage. Random Acts of Kindness Week in February encourages everyone to make kindness the norm in their everyday actions. One way to spread kindness during this week is to write a thank you note to a local Little Free Library steward! (A steward is an individual or group of people who care for a Little Free Library book-sharing box.) These notes help stewards see how their Little Free Library book-sharing boxes are making an impact in their communities.

Purpose: Strengthen community connections and spread kindness by showing your gratitude for a community resource. 

How to Participate:

Time Required: This is a flexible opportunity that can happen whenever you are available during the week of Feb. 15-21. It only requires the time it takes to write and deliver a thoughtful note to a Little Free Library.

Join us to celebrate World Wetlands Day by participating in a Wetland Trash Clean-up with the Tennessee Delta Alliance (TDA) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on February 18th. Volunteers will meet at the Reelfoot Lake State Park Visitor Center to check in. We will be surveying various day-use areas, creeks, and spillways for litter! By helping clean up litter, you will be helping to restore important wetland habitat for native wildlife species!

Join United Way of South Central Tennessee for our annual Baby Basics Drive, reimagined for 2026. This one-day event at 101 W Lincoln St, Tullahoma (Large Board Room) brings together volunteers to collect, count, and organize donations of unopened diapers and wipes to support new and expectant parents in our community. 

Your participation helps ease the burden on local families by ensuring they have access to essential baby items and resources. The cost of caring for a baby adds up quickly, and your support helps parents receive the supplies they need and connect with community programs that give their little ones the best possible start in life.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Choose the shift that works best for you.  We also may need people to pick-up donations and bring to the Tullahoma office if interested.

Join park staff at the historic John and Landon Carter Mansion (built in 1780) to help clean up litter along the riverbank and grounds. This beautiful site is located across town from the main park grounds, at 1031 Broad Street. The riverbank is a popular fishing spot, and the grounds are popular for folks to walk their dogs through the neighborhood. As such, inevitably trash ends up scattered about. Gloves, trash bags and water will be provided. Subject to rescheduling in the event of inclement weather. 

We are in need of timers for the Conference Carolinas Swimming Championship Meet in February. You will be timing collegiate swimmers in different events.

The park's native flower beds are looking great!  To stay looking good, we need your help.  We are looking for volunteers to help maintain our beautiful gardens.  Work will include cutting back last year's growth, trimming plants, blowing fall leaves out, pulling the ever present dreaded weeds and general TLC.

This is a great opportunity to earn volunteer hours for TN Naturalist certification, scholarships, school, or scouting badges!  Please wear appropriate clothing and closed toe shoes; if you have work gloves and hand pruners feel free to bring them, all other tools will be provided.

We will be serving BBQ sandwiches and coleslaw, cookies etc. we will need help with any of the following: serving onto plates or to go containers, clearing tables and general duties like that.

Join us for a hands-on Volunteer Day at the lake as we install wood duck nesting boxes! These boxes provide safe nesting sites for wood ducks and help support healthy wetland ecosystems. Volunteers will help place and secure boxes along the shoreline with Park Rangers. Thank you to all participants of our Love of Birds event who made this possible by building them. This event will start at the boatdock. 

Bledsoe Creek State Park's full campground reopens on March 1st! Each year our volunteers help us prepare by washing the road signs and campsite pedestals. Regular maintenance allows these to last longer and remain visible to all our incoming guests. Meet us at the Visitor Center to receive supplies and give your park staff a helping hand as we ready the park for the in-season.

Join Rangers Hannah and Jessie for a Grundy Lakes Clean Up Day! We will be cleaning up old debris piles on the Lone Rock Trail as well as trash around the lakes. Please dress accordingly and dress for the weather. If you have work gloves, please bring them! Also make sure you have plenty of snacks and water. We will be meeting at the main Grundy Lakes parking lot where the bathrooms are located.

Our Reading Ranger Story Trail panels are beloved by our youngest visitors. To help them last for many more seasons volunteers wash them and report any damage from falling branches or overzealous readers. Meet at the Visitor Center to collect supplies for a leisurely afternoon on the shaded, paved half mile loop.

If you have a little more time you can check on our Little Free Library located near the bathhouse on Woodchuck Hollow. We periodically straighten the books to be sure it is in good order for our camping community. Do you know someone with carpentry skills? We'd love to add another Little Free Library near the Raccoon Creek day-use area so please have them contact us at 615-452-3706.

Beaumont Magnet Academy is looking for bilingual (Spanish and English) volunteers to support our families who speak Spanish at all of our evening family engagement events!  These volunteers will help families navigate the event, communicate with teachers and staff as needed, and help us ensure families feel welcome and included!

It's that time of year again, the 2026 Cummins Falls Marathon will be on February 28th 2026. We will need lots of help the day before the races, the day of the races and the day after. Volunteer tasks may include helping with food prep and serving food to runners, manning aid stations along the route and helping set up and take down before and after the event. Volunteers will recieve a free T-shirt. Join Rangers Grant and Liner to help with storm damage on Natural Bridge Trail. We have been working hard to open Natural Bridge back and are offering this volunteer event where you can help, too!

We will be hiking parts of the trail doing lopper maintenance. We will meet at 12:30 at the tennis courts in the picnic area. We will return at 4:00. These times are CST.

This will be around a 1 mile hike. Please dress appropriately for the weather, this includes sturdy hiking shoes.

The eighth annual North Knoxville Community Cleanup and Tree Planting will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 9am-12pm. The event base will be at Northgate Plaza, located at 4212 N Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917.  

We will be removing litter from North Knoxville roads, creeks, and parks.  

This year, we have a special partnership with Trees Knoxville to plant trees at Whittle Springs Middle School. Trees Knoxville and Keep Knoxville Beautiful are partnering to plant trees in communities and schools across Knoxville. Together, we are growing the urban canopy, helping keep schools cooler, and increasing biodiversity in neighborhoods throughout the city. This partnership supports healthier learning environments, stronger communities, and a more resilient Knoxville for generations to come.  

Participants of any age are welcome! We look forward to seeing those who live, work, or play in North Knoxville - as well as anyone who wants to lend a helping hand. Thank you for keeping Knoxville beautiful!

Join us for a volunteer workday focused on removing invasive plant species—such as English ivy and privet—to help native wildflowers thrive at Haw Ridge. Environmental education instructor and author Kris Light, creator of the Haw Ridge Wildflower Guide (available for download at eastennesseewildflowers.com), will join us to help identify wildflower habitats found at Haw Ridge and explain how invasive species threaten these native plants. The event is co-organized between TCWP and the UT Arboretum Society. Participants may choose activities that match their comfort level, from simply enjoying time outdoors to digging vines or removing privet using weed wrenches.

We will meet at 10:00 am in the parking area on Edgemoor Rd. (near the Haw Ridge kiosk) and walk into the area of the peninsula on the west side of the park. The area is rocky in a few sections and could be muddy if there were recent rains, so sturdy shoes are necessary. We will have some tools for participants to use, but you are encouraged to bring your own clippers, loppers, and work gloves.
