Volunteer: Food Donation Pick-ups for Salvation Army Emergency Food PantryOur emergency food pantry is partially stocked with donations from local grocery stores. We are required to pick-up those donations on an ongoing basis. We are seeking individuals to pick up food donations from local grocery stores. We currently have two dedicated volunteers for this project who are taking some time off for the summer, so we need your help! Days and Times: We have pick-ups at locations on North Broadway and near the university on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Pick-ups occur in the mornings sometime between 9:30 am and noon. Typically the whole process from arrival to departure takes about 1 1/2 hours., so the start time is somewhat flexible. Volunteers may choose any one of these days or multiple days per week. We are seeking volunteers who can be here at least one morning per week, although we know that sometimes there will be changes to a regular schedule. We also need substitute drivers who can fill in when our regular drivers aren't available. Background Checks: Note that volunteers will drive Salvation Army vehicles for the pick-ups (either a mini-van or a full-size pick-up truck).
