The Joy of Music School holds Board Meetings from noon to 1pm on the third Wednesday of every other month throughout the calendar year. Our first meeting of 2026 will be on Wednesday, January 21st. We are looking for a volunteer receptionist to answer phones and let visitors in to the school during those six meetings. It is a light duty position.

YWCA hosts a mobile Prom Dress Sale where we take dresses to local high schools to help students choose a dress they can afford ($25). Please help us load/unload as needed. This will happen on Feb 2, 18, 25, Mar 3, 16, and 25.

Volunteers will be picking up food donations and filling blessing boxes around our county on February 6, 2026. Depending on donations, times may vary. Must be able to lift smaller boxes of canned food items. We may also need to pick up at other times during the prior month, if boxes are filled ahead of time. We will have several donation locations around the county.

All are welcome to come help us get ready for "Unplug, Love-A Valentines Prayerful Event"

General cleaning and preparing rooms, mending fence cover, moving light furniture, put fire pit together and helping decorate.

This workday will focus on clearing debris from storm damage on the outer loop. Meet up location is the Maintenance yard off of Warner Rd. Requirements are closed toe shoes, gloves and enough water and snacks to get through 3 hours of work. Plan to walk approximately 3 miles. Trail is muddy please plan accordingly with your choice of shoes/boots.

ReLAUNCH is in need of volunteers 18 years of age and older to help us serve the homeless Under the Bridge (the Day Space*) at the old Salvation Army Thrift Store/Foyer located at 409 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN. **

ReLAUNCH is currently operating in the Salvation Army Foyer building (the old Thrift Store) directly adjacent to the Day Space, so please check in with us there.

The address is 409 N Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917. GPS will get you to the entrance of the Salvation Army campus. We are located in the building on the left as you turn into the parking lot, through the open gate. You can park alongside the building or in any of the open spaces in front of the building.

*The Day Space is considered a "Safe Use" area. During your volunteer shift, you may see active drug use.

**Duties may vary based on need and availability. Some of this service will include trash pickup in the Day Space, laundry, sorting donations, etc., if another agency is serving meals in place of ReLAUNCH.

Help keep the residents of Greene County warm during the winter months. Volunteers haul, cut, and split wood between Monday through Saturday at the corner of North Rufe Taylor Rd and Old Stage Rd and deliver on Saturdays and throughout the week.

This is a great opportunity for volunteers to serve close to home- in their own community. Our truck and staff will arrive with food and volunteers will work together to assist in the distribution of the food items to those in need. Volunteers must be able to stand for the duration of shift, as well as lift, bend and carry boxes to vehicles.

This food distribution is outdoors, please plan to dress according to the weather.

Our volunteers work out of our Maryville warehouse in the Product Recovery area or our Repack Clean Room where we process donated and bulk food for distribution, to help feed our East Tennessee neighbors.

Volunteers also help in non-food project support roles such as cleaning, letter stuffing, and miscellaneous admin duties. 

No experience necessary! Training will be provided on-site at the beginning of the shift.

*Volunteers must be at least 10 years of age, and anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.
** Please note, for groups that have minors ages 10-15 among the participants, we require a 1:5 chaperone to minor ratio. Please ensure that your group size matches this ratio with adult chaperones (18+) and minors.

MEDIC Regional Blood Center is currently seeking volunteers to assist in scheduling appointments with whole blood donors. Volunteers will use MEDIC office phones and will be asked to make several calls per shift. 

All volunteers must undergo a criminal background check, no exceptions. MEDIC staff will send the background check link to your email address within 48 hours of your registration to volunteer. 

Volunteers will also need to sign waivers during their first shift. Volunteers will be given a volunteer ID badge to wear while they work at the center. 

Schedulers will work at our Ailor Center at 1601 Ailor Avenue. Volunteers must adhere to MEDIC policies, including those for smoke-free and fragrance-free environments. 

Volunteers will be given a script and a call list using our donor platform. 

Volunteers who do not show up for their registered volunteer slot without notice forfeit all remaining slots the volunteer has signed up for. Maynard Elementary School is hosting their 3rd annual Sneakerball - A school dance designed for families to attend wearing their Sunday Best and snazziest sneakers!

We are in need of help to set up the event the two days before it takes place. This would include, but is not limited to, hanging decorations (some ladder work included), moving tables, and inflating balloons. 

Dress code is casual - school appropriate while still being able to work (leggings, jeans, t-shirt, etc.). Parking can be found directly beside the school in any available spot in our fenced in lot. If none available, street parking can be found in front of school or around Danny Mayfield Park. Please plan to bring your ID to check in with the front office.

ReLAUNCH needs donations for our shelter on N. Broadway and I-40. We need paper/styrofoam plates, paper/styrofoam cups, plastic spoons or plastic sporks, coffee, powdered creamer, toilet paper, paper towels, cold weather clothes (coats, parkas, hats, gloves, socks), disposable nitrile gloves, cleaning supplies and disinfectant wipes.

Choose a day that's right for you to come by and drop off any supplies to help our homeless friends!

Volunteers serve food from a cafeteria-style serving line and assist with other kitchen duties, as needed.  Kitchen duties can include sweeping, cleaning and disinfecting tables and/or rinsing dishes.  

Once you sign up for a shift, your volunteer shift is confirmed.

If you are volunteering as part of a group, each person in the group must sign up to volunteer separately.

Arrival time, parking, entry, and attire:

Please arrive at our Knoxville Area Command at 409 N Broadway, Knoxville, TN no later than 11:45 pm. You may park anywhere. Enter the main building facing Broadway building through our main entrance (second entrance on the front side of the building between the flag pole and playground). If you are volunteering on a date when the main office is closed, please walk around the back of the main building to the kitchen entrance which is the last door on the raised patio.

Senior Ride Nashville is growing our volunteer driver team! Drivers use their own vehicles to transport seniors to community centers, medical appointments, grocery stores, beauty/barber shops and more. Help a senior get where they need to go and make a friend in the process! Volunteer shifts are flexible and scheduled at your convenience using an easy online tool. SRN provides rides Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Come continue the Citico Creek riparian buffer restoration effort at Carver Park by planting trees with us in a new way: live staking! What does that mean? Live staking is the process of installing tree cuttings along a water's edge to prevent erosion. Instead of digging holes, live staking involves driving small segments of a tree into the ground. Under the right conditions, the segments will grow just like any other tree! In addition to live stakes, we're prepared to plant bare root trees during this event as well, which are a lot smaller than our typical container trees. This past fall, Southeast Conservation Corps and their Urban Forestry Crew planted the first live stakes along the creek. Sign up to set the next steps into motion!

The Love Yourself Event, hosted by the S.O. What! Foundation, is a community-centered wellness and self-care experience designed to uplift, educate, and empower attendees through meaningful conversations, holistic services, and positive connection.

We are seeking friendly, dependable volunteers to support event-day operations on Saturday, February 7 at the Great Hall & Conference Center in Germantown, Tennessee. Volunteers will assist with registration, vendor and service provider support, room set-up and breakdown, speaker assistance, and guest experience support.

This is a wonderful opportunity to give back, support a mission-driven event, and be part of an inspiring day focused on wellness, self-love, and community care.

Join us on the First Saturdays of the Month for volunteer opportunities throughout the park. 

Opportunities include:

Projects will vary depending on need and number of volunteers. 

We will cancel for inclement weather. However, we will work in light rain/snow and temperatures above freezing. 

Please dress appropriately and bring water! We have gloves but you can also bring your own. 

This is a monthly volunteer opportunity, that occurs on the first Saturday of every month (barring events or unforeseen circumstances), intended to assist park staff with park projects and tasks. Parks projects and task can include: invasive plant removal, trail work, trash clean-up, storm/weather debris clean-up, gardening. Projects or task vary and will be conducted according to need.

If you need to complete community service or volunteer service hours to fulfill a requirement for scholarships, graduation, fraternity/sorority obligations, etc., let us know. If you just want to come out and help us, we would be happy to have you join us.

Volunteers should plan on meeting Ranger Brian Miller at the visitor center at 10:00am CT. Ranger Miller will brief all volunteers on the location in the park where the work will take place and the project/task to be done. Join us for our last planting in Ridgedale on Saturday, February 7th from 10am to 1pm! Our time planting in Ridgedale is rapidly coming to a close and so far there are over 300 new trees in the ground.

Some cutting tools and work gloves will be available for volunteers to use, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own cutting tools if they have some, such as pruning shears, loppers, and hand saws. Volunteers should bring bottled water to drink while working.

Volunteer Campground Host: Volunteer who is assisting in hospitality and maintenance functions in the campground and other park operations, and facilitates the recreational experience of the state park visitors. Duties may include but are not limited to: Camper orientation & information, Light maintenance, reporting inappropriate activities or potential maintenance hazards, park programming and collection of fees and sales. Host agrees to exercise hospitality towards campers and are visible representatives of the state park during their frequent interactions with the public. Host is required to volunteer for a minimum of 20 hours per week for no more than 9 consecutive months. 

Here is a synopsis of Spring Jam...

NCC's “Spring Jam” Spring Break experience is an annual educational event that provides a unique, artistic, and cultural experience to lower-income families and youth in Memphis, Tennessee.  This event highlights a particular country to give youth who may never experience visiting another country the opportunity to gain that experience in a mock simulation event. More than 1200 youth are expected to have this experience. This year marks our 21st year hosting this event, and we will be highlighting the country of America.

This volunteer project involves building sets to mimic the country we're highlighting this year.   Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes they wouldn't mind getting paint on, etc.  

We will spend 2 hours on a Monday afternoon to help plant onions in garden and spread leaves to help prepare the beds for spring planting!

The Children's Museum of Memphis would love for you to volunteer with us the week of CMOM's Mardi Gras Bash. 

We have many stations to prepare for the days leading up to our Mardi Gras Bash. The volunteer opportunities include laying out vinyl for the parade route, decorating, organizing the stations, moving blue blocks, etc. 

This will take place during the week of February 9th to February 13th.

Go Green with us!  This month we celebrate our Wetlands and Rivers in Tennessee State Parks. As the Tennessee River levels fluctuate seasonally, the shoreline collects trash. We have made tremendous progress keeping our Park shorelines clean and need to do some cleanup around the point where our large cabins are located. Join us as we do this important work and as a bonus, we will also be identifying mussel shells along the shoreline in this beautiful area!

We will meet at the Nature Center Parking lot and then move to the cleanup area.

The area is muddy, please wear shoes that can get muddy or boots if you have them.

Some gloves will be available, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Trash bags and "pickers" will be supplied.

Please dress for the weather, it is colder at the water than inland.

Girl Talk is a local non-profit that focuses on mentoring young women in the Knoxville community. Our school and site based program is an elementary group mentoring program that meets for 1 hour a week for 10 weeks.

This site meets at North Ridge Crossing Boys and Girls Club on Mondays from 3:30-4:30. We are looking for someone to assist our current mentor at the site. The commitment would be every Monday from 3:30-4:30 on the following dates:

Girl Talk is a local non-profit that focuses on mentoring young women in the Knoxville community. Our school and site based program is an elementary group mentoring program that meets for 1 hour a week for 10 weeks.

The Kingsport Public Library is looking for volunteers to help keep our library welcoming and organized. Volunteers assist with tasks such as shelving books, straightening shelves, cleaning, and pulling holds for patrons. Your time and support help us provide excellent service to our community! You can fill out this quick questionnaire to learn more about our expectations and let us know what you're looking for.

Volunteers must complete and clear a free background check prior to volunteering. All adult volunteers must sign a volunteer waiver and complete a form authorizing a background check. You can find the forms necessary and extra info here. He'll also discuss the challenges your new tree will face and how to help care for them in the first few years of establishment. Bledsoe Creek State Park added a pollinator garden in 2019 with the support of Friends of Bledsoe Creek State Park and a grant from the Iris Fund. With careful selection of native perennials and self seeding annuals this area has flourished. Located adjacent to the Visitor Center, it serves as a wildlife habitat, educational tool and visual interest for passersby. In every season there are tasks we can use volunteer assistance with to maintain the pollinator garden! In the spring we apply mulch and soil amendments if needed. During the summer and fall we'll be weeding and ensuring the plant markers are visible. In the winter we will put the garden to bed being careful to maintain a habitat for pollinators to overwinter. This is a family-friendly opportunity appropriate for all ages!

We are in need of timers for the Appalachian Athletic Conference Swimming Championship Meet in February. You will be timing collegiate swimmers in different events.

Neighborhood Christian Center will host a Career & College Expo to connect students with local schools and career opportunities and receive guidance about next steps.

Volunteers are needed to assist with check-in, serving food, and assisting students in navigating through the process.

Beaumont Magnet Academy provides weekly food bags for students who need food support over the weekends.  These bags contain easy to make food and snacks, as well as fresh produce ensuring that kids have food when school is not in session.  Glen Oak Missionary Baptist Church packs the nonperishable items from Second Harvest for us.  Beardsley Farm and the Rotary Club of Knoxville add the fresh produce to the bags 1-2 times a month.

To make this process work, we need help!  We need volunteers to transport our food bags from Glen Oak Missionary Baptist Church to Beaumont Magnet Academy or to Beardsley Farm on the weeks they will be adding produce.

Volunteers will pick up the food bags in the morning and drop them off at BMA or Beardsley Farm depending on the week.  We usually have approximately 100 to 130 bags.  Rolling bins are available to move items to and from your vehicle at each location.  

I will reach out to you to let you know if you will be delivering to the school or to Beardsley Farm.  Dates for Beardsley Farm will be confirmed by beginning of September.  First Beardsley Farm date is 9/18.

We allow Children who are 8 years old and up to volunteer with a parent.  We have a lot of items in our warehouse that could be a hazard if they fell over so this is just to keep everyone safe. 

As a warehouse warrior you will help sort donations such as clothing and baby supplies. You can also assist with creating/decorating period kits, repackaging open/loose diapers, and organizing books, toys, etc. We need your help to keep our donations organized and going back out to children who need them!

Our school food pantry provides essential support to families by offering fresh produce, shelf‑stable groceries, and household necessities each week. This work ensures that every child in our community has access to the nourishment they need to learn, grow, and thrive. To keep our pantry running smoothly, we rely on volunteers to help unload and organize deliveries. These deliveries often include boxes of canned goods, cases of produce, and bulk items that require moderate to heavy lifting. Volunteers should be comfortable lifting up to 10 pounds and spending some time outdoors while trucks are being unloaded. Your support makes an immediate impact—helping us move food quickly and safely so families can access what they need without delay. Whether you’re an individual or part of a group, your time and strength directly fuel our mission of care and community.

Special Olympics Tennessee Fitness Program is a wellness initiative focused on fitness, nutrition, and mental health for teens and adults (ages 13+) with intellectual disabilities. Through goal-setting and measurable outcomes, we aim to empower athletes to take control of their health and reduce the disparities often faced by individuals with intellectual disabilities.

One of our key programs, Train 4 Life, is a 12-week fitness, nutrition, and wellness series. Each session lasts 60 minutes and is designed to help athletes build healthy habits in a supportive, inclusive environment. Weekly workout sessions starting January 19th through April 11th. Show Sycamore Shoals some love and join us on February 13th at 1:00 for a volunteer work day. Activities include invasive plant removal, litter pick-up, cabin cleaning, trail work, and much more! Bring your friends and family and join Ranger Jason Davis as we work to ensure that this special historic site continues to be a place for future generations to enjoy! Volunteers wishing to participate should plan on arriving at the picnic area beside the Park Visitor Center starting at 1:00pm and we will wrap up by 4:00. Bring a water bottle, gloves, and a Volunteer Spirit!

GNRC will have a booth at Seniors on the Move Day of Love and Black History hosted at Fisk University. We will share information about GNRC Aging and Disability Programing and our Medicare Counseling Program (SHIP).

Volunteers need to track how many people see the booth, greet passers-by, and give GNRC/SHIP information as appropriate. Volunteers will need to transport a folding table.

What's more romantic than donating your time to make your community more beautiful and resilient? Join us for a Valentine's Day planting at Parkdale Circle at Kenwood! Together, we’re growing a healthier, greener Chattanooga while building shade, beauty, and resilience for future generations. No experience is needed. We provide all tools and guidance. Come get your hands in the dirt and help make a lasting impact!

On February 14, a day of trail work and hiking will take place on the 2.5-mile section of the Cumberland Trail at the Obed Wild and Scenic River between Nemo Picnic Area and Alley Ford, adopted by TCWP in 1998.  

Participants should dress appropriately for winter weather, wear sturdy shoes or boots, and bring work gloves, loppers, small bow saws or folding saws, shovels, and grubbing tools, as well as a lunch and plenty of water. Cumberland Trail State Park personnel will also make some tools available at the event.

Participants can meet for carpooling in Oak Ridge at the Gold’s Gym/Books-A-Million parking lot (meet at the end close to S. Illinois Avenue, near Salsarita’s) in time to leave Oak Ridge at 9 a.m. Eastern, or can join the crew at Nemo Picnic Area or Rock Creek Campground at 10 a.m.  We expect to return to the trailhead around 3 p.m. (NOTE: If the weather is uncooperative—excessive rain, snow, or ice—we will reschedule for the following Saturday.)

Participants will need to sign a National Park Service volunteer form (parents’ or guardians' signature required for minors). Forms can be requested in advance from TCWP, or NPS representatives will have forms available at the event.

Spend Valentine's Day at Fall Creek Falls State Park. Where we will be sharing our Love of Birds. Participants will build wood duck nesting boxes to support local wildlife efforts. 

This hands-on program is perfect for couples, friends, or solo participants. Pairs will be making one box. Park Staff will provide materials and instruction, along with information about wood ducks and how nesting boxes help them thrive. 

If you are celebrating Valentine's Day as a couple or solo this event is for you! This event is a meaningful way to connect with others and nature. 

The Children's Museum of Memphis would love for you to volunteer with us during our Mardi Gras. 

We have many fun stations where you can volunteer, including dancing, float-making, and decorating masks and crowns.

This will take place on Saturday, February 14th (Valentine's Day) from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Anyone under the age of 18 is required to have their guardian fill out a permission slip, which can be found below. Anyone over 17 will need to undergo a background check. Please email me at Paige.whipp@cmom.com to initiate the process.

Random Acts of Kindness Week in February encourages everyone to make kindness the norm in their everyday actions. One way to spread kindness during this week is to write a thank you note to a local Little Free Library steward! (A steward is an individual or group of people who care for a Little Free Library book-sharing box.) These notes help stewards see how their Little Free Library book-sharing boxes are making an impact in their communities.

Purpose: Strengthen community connections and spread kindness by showing your gratitude for a community resource. 

How to Participate:

Time Required: This is a flexible opportunity that can happen whenever you are available during the week of Feb. 15-21. It only requires the time it takes to write and deliver a thoughtful note to a Little Free Library.
