We need your help to keep Burgess Falls healthy and thriving!

This event is geared towards forest floor debris removal, invasive plant removal, and lakeside access improvement!

Meet Ranger Connor at our lower parking lot at 9:00am to get your gloves and get to work clearing understory, removing invasive plants, and picking up garbage along southern end of Burgess Falls Lake. 

Participants must be at least 14 years or older to participate.

Please wear closed toed shoes, long pants, and appropriate clothing for the weather.

If inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.

Partners of NHE including businesses, local churches, and non-profit organizations working together to help NHE staff and families meet school priorities.

Join Ranger Joe at the entrance of the event center (the old restaurant) to trim up and beautify our flower garden. Participants should expect to do work, including cutting or pulling plants, siting or standing in the elements. 

This event is open to all and accommodations can be made for anyone.

This month we are looking for letters or cards around the theme of Winter/Holiday wishes. You can incorporate the theme through art, by making your own themed cards and within the message of your letter.

If you are interested in sending letters and/or art to seniors in the community, please sign up below and include in your response (in the notes) how many letters you would like to write. I will contact you with specific instructions for the letters and the address to send them to. Children are welcome to contribute (an adult is required for minors to sign up).
 
We are looking to have this round of letters completed and received by their recipients by 12/31/2025. Please allow a couple of days for mailing and distribution. If you are mailing letters for a specific holiday and would like them to arrive and be distributed before then, please mail the letters at least 1.5 weeks prior. For example, Christmas letters should be mailed at the latest by December 13th, so that staff at the facility have enough time to distribute the letters to the residents.
 
What do you need to provide? Volunteers will be required to have their own materials for the letters and any additional artwork you'd like to add, as well as stamps to mail the letters on hand (or you must be able to take them to the post office). I will try my best to provide you with one address for your letters so you can mail them together in a large envelope. 

Need your service hours confirmed? Please track and log the actual time you spent working on the letters/cards here in the volunteer portal AND submit pictures of your letters as proof. Please note that we do NOT assign a specific number of letters per hour. United Way of Anderson County's Day of Caring will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026! On this day, volunteer teams from various local corporations and community groups will unite to execute service projects across Anderson, Morgan, Scott, and Campbell counties. Our program aligns participating nonprofit organizations with motivated, capable volunteers from the local business community to fulfill essential project needs within these service areas.

Our Tactile Trail is in need of some TLC to replenish its walking surface with mulch.  Volunteers are needed to rake and smooth the old surface mulch and distribute new mulch onto the trail.  The trail is 0.1 (one tenth) of a mile long.  Rakes, gloves and cold water will be provided to volunteers!

The sixth annual East Knoxville Community Cleanup will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 9am-12pm. The event base will be at Ashley Nicole Dream Playground, located at 620 Winona Street, Knoxville, TN 37917. 

We will be removing litter from East Knoxville roads, creeks, and parks. We also will have a special partnership with Ijams Nature Center to remove invasive species at Dr. Walter Hardy Park.

Participants of any age are welcome! We look forward to seeing those who live, work, or play in East Knoxville - as well as anyone who wants to lend a helping hand. Thank you for keeping Knoxville beautiful! 

There are four volunteer options: two to sign up as an individual picking up litter, one to remove invasive species, and one to sign up as a group. Please only fill out the section that applies to you.

Groups: Participating groups will send a leader to Caswell Park to pick up supplies and then meet their group at their designated, or assigned neighborhood to pick up litter. Please only sign up as a group if you are wishing to lead your group in your own cleanup area.

Help us set up for success! The Chatt Town Cool Down is Chattanooga's Signature End-of-Summer Celebration and we need many hands to make light work. Volunteers can expect to help us set up and/or break down the event. This role is one of the most important, and we would love your help! 

Join us for Tennessee Serves & National Public Lands Day as we remove invasive species from the boat ramp area of Panther Creek State Park!

We will be working for approximately 3 hours.

We will start by looking and listening for birds, then continue to look for other flora and fauna throughout the morning. Participants can also remove invasive species to expand the cedar barren habitat along the trail.

This will be the second of our three annual workdays at the Oak Ridge Cedar Barrens. Located next to Jefferson Middle School in Oak Ridge, the barrens is a joint project of the City of Oak Ridge, the State Natural Areas Division, and TCWP. One of just a few cedar barrens in East Tennessee, the area is subject to invasion by Chinese lespedeza, Japanese privet, autumn olive, mimosa, Nepal grass, multiflora rose, and woody plants that threaten the systems’ prairie grasses. Our spring, summer, and fall cleanups help to eliminate invasives and other shade-producing plants that prevent the prairie grasses from getting needed sun. The late-summer workday is optimum for viewing prairie wildflowers that flourish at the barrens.

Volunteers should meet in the Jefferson Middle School parking lot at 9 a.m.; wear sturdy shoes, and bring loppers, gloves, and water. A pizza lunch will be provided.

You can be a hero for public lands. Join us at Pickwick Landing State Park anytime between September 19th and September 28th to volunteer as part of Tennessee Serves and National Public Lands Day! Help us
preserve and maintain our beautiful park by participating in various projects. No experience necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and love for our environment.
Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or new to giving back, this is a great opportunity to make a difference for public lands. Activities will include landscaping, trash pickup, or invasive plant removal. All necessary tools and instructions will be provided. Come out and support your local park!  This is a family-friendly event, so bring the whole crew and spend a day in nature while giving back to the community!

Museum of Appalachia, Norris Tennessee – Annual Fall Heritage Days on Thursday & Friday, October 22 & 23, and the following week, Thursday & Friday, October 29 & 30, from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

The Museum's signature educational program includes demonstrations where things are made by hand—corn shuck and apple head dolls, brooms, baskets, butter, fiber arts, powder horns, rugs, soap, lard, and barrels. Blacksmiths, coopers, and woodworkers will showcase their craft, while demonstrations of rail splitting and beekeeping highlight the skills that sustained early Appalachian communities. Traditional musicians and dancers will will add to the atmosphere. Students can also try their hand at interactive activities designed to bring Appalachian history to life. From crosscut sawing and quill-pen writing to spelling bees, candle dipping, and classic games, these experiences offer engaging ways to learn about the daily lives of early settlers. Other highlights include storytelling, folklore and colonial history presentations, old-fashioned schoolhouse lessons, Appalachian music, circle dancing, shape-note singing, and animal encounters. We need volunteers to help make this program a truly memorable experience for children!  Shifts are available, or work an entire day, 8:30am to 3:00 with lunch provided!

Sign up to attend Community Emergency Response Training September 1 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. In September we will cover the CERT Unit 3: Disaster Medical Operations part 1 curriculum.  We will also provide Stop the Bleed training.

September training will take place at American Medical Response (10140 Gallows Point Dr).

Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) teaches participants about hazards that could affect our community, how to prepare for them and how to help your family, neighbors, or coworkers in the immediate aftermath of an emergency, before responders arrive. CERT is a nationally supported initiative hosted by the Knoxville-Knox County Emergency Management Agency (KEMA) in partnership with local emergency response agencies. The Knox County CERT program is focused on personal preparedness training for disasters and connecting people with local volunteer agencies for response opportunities.

CERT is free to community members and takes place 6:30-9:00 PM the first Tuesday of each month in most cases.

We are located at 709 N Cedar Bluff Rd, attached to Ceadar Bluff Pre-K. Your gps will guide you to the pre-k entrance by the playground. If you are coming from the interstate, drive past this entrance and make your next left. You will see a Teacher Supply Depot sign on the side of the building.

Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. This is a headphone-friendly job.

Help Ranger Lydia remove invasive lespedeza from our native grassland pollinator fields!   We will work from approximately 7:30AM - 9AM central.  Please bring work gloves and adequate water/snacks.  Long pants and close-toed shoes are recommended.  Will be working in a field with no shade, so hats, sunscreen, and bug spray are also recommended. Help us prepare for the NorthKnoxWell Community Health Fair by joining our setup crew the evening before the event! We're looking for 10–15 volunteers who are comfortable with physical activity and able to lift and move tables, chairs, and event supplies around the school. This is a hands-on opportunity that plays a critical role in making sure our community health fair is ready to welcome many families the next day.

Volunteers should be able to work as part of a team, follow directions, and be prepared for a shift that may include lifting, carrying, and walking throughout the event space.

Your support behind the scenes will help create a welcoming, organized event that connects families with valuable health resources and services the next day.

Volunteers are needed to help set-up decorations, assist the cater with set-up and at serving stations during the event and for breakdown and clean-up during and at the event's conclusion.  

Help us plant a garden of native plants historically used for healing, many rooted in Cherokee and other Indigenous traditions. We've cleared and expanded the space - now we need volunteers to help get new plants in the ground.

No experience needed. Just bring curiosity and a willingness to get a little dirty. You'll work alongside our horticulture team and learn the story behind what you're planting.

Join Master Trailbuilders every third Thursday and the following Saturday for the ongoing quest to fully flush out the trail system at Head of the Crow State Park.  Our current objective is rerouting a treacherous section of the Buggytop Trail to increase its accessibility to our visitors.  From newbies to pros all volunteers are welcome and we will supply all tools, gloves, and eye protection. All you need to bring are snacks, water, closed-toed shoes, and a happy attitude!  Volunteers should expect to hike 3 miles over difficult uneven terrain, work with various hand tools, and leave with a warm sense of fulfillment after a good day's work.  

We will meet at the T.O. Fuller State Park Maintenance Shop, 3290 Boxtown Road, at 9:00 AM to clear the orange trail section of the Discovery Loop.

Tools, water, gloves, and Gatoradeatorade will be provided.

Join Seasonal Interpretive Ranger Hannah at the Miller Farmstead to help weed the flowerbeds! We will meet at the Farmstead on August 22nd at 10 am and work until 12 pm. Please come prepared with appropriate clothing for gardening work, e.g. sun protection, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. Also bring your own sunscreen/bug spray, water, and any snacks you may need. It is recommended you bring your own work gloves if you have them, but extras will be provided. We will be kneeling for long periods of time, so consider bringing a knee pad for your own comfort if needed. All gardening tools will be provided.

The Miller Farmstead is a gorgeous area of Roan Mountain State Park, and we appreciate your help in beautifying its gardens! When you arrive, you will park and walk down two flights of stairs to the house. Do be aware that the stairs can feel steep for some, but you are welcome to walk on the grass next to the stairs as an alternative.

Join us for a day of cleaning up our garden beds at the SK Homeplace! Please bring water, snacks, sunscreen and bugspray. We will provide gloves and tools for weeding the gardens. We look forward to seeing you there! 

Join Fall Creek Falls State Park in preserving and protecting our pulic lands. We will be celebrating National Public Lands Day by working on one of our park's most-used trail systems. This event will last three hours on September 26th, 2026. Individuals should expect to have to do some hiking and get dirty. Make sure to bring sturdy shoes, gloves, water, and any other items you might need during the event. 

Looking for a lower-key way to make a real difference in the Garden? Every Wednesday morning, our greenhouse plants need some gentle care, and this is a great option if you want meaningful impact without heavy lifting or strenuous work. A horticulture team member will get you started, then leave you to it: just you, the plants, and the quiet rhythm of watering. Many volunteers find it a peaceful, almost meditative hour - a nice pocket of calm and quiet reflection in the week.

Join Roan Mountain State Park and Patchwork Meadows of Black Mountain, NC for a volunteer workday focused on removing invasive Lespedeza from our native pollinator gardens located along TN Highway 143 near Picnic Shelter 1. 

Volunteers will help protect and restore these important habitats by identifying and pulling invasive Lespedeza plants that compete with native wildflowers and grasses. Removing these invasive species helps ensure our pollinator gardens continue to provide valuable food and shelter for bees, butterflies, birds, and other wildlife. 

The park will provide work gloves, water, and snacks for all participants. Volunteer shifts are limited to 10 people and last approximately 3 hours. 

This is a great opportunity to work alongside the professional landscaping team from Patchwork Meadows and learn more about invasive plant management, native gardening, and habitat restoration. Whether you're new to native plants or an experienced gardener, you'll gain hands-on knowledge while making meaningful contributions to local conservation efforts. 

Each year, the YMCA provides meals to at-risk youth across our service areas. More than 400,000 nutritious meals are prepared and served annually at over 80 sites in Chattanooga, Cleveland, and North Georgia. This impact is made possible through the dedication of the invaluable support of volunteers.

You have the opportunity in helping prepare and pack these meals with us on Friday, September 18th from 9:00am-12:00pm. We also have the need to spruce up our grounds outside of the branch, with mulching and some pruning of hedges. And there just might be time to do some washing and detailing to our YMCA delivery vans.

We would love to showcase our little hidden gem of Metropolitan of Chattanooga YMCA. If interested, please have your organization reach out.

Join Seasonal Interpretive Ranger Orion for a fun volunteer cleanup at Grundy Lakes!

We will be working in the sun so please come prepared with water, sunscreen, and plenty of water! You will also need sturdy close-toed shoes. Hot dogs and snacks will be provided for lunch.

Help us restore the beauty of Pickwick Lake by picking up trash along the shoreline!  Once you register, please email Interpretive Ranger Rachel at rachel.boothe@tn.gov to verify if you would prefer to kayak or walk the shorelines at the park to collect trash.

We'll be out and about collecting trash from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm, but volunteers can schedule arrival or departure times as needed during that time frame.

In the event of rain, we will reschedule for September 19th.

Kick on your boots and join us at the Cotton Eye Joe for a night of line dancing lessons! A valid ID is required for entry. Volunteers will support participants by helping them follow directions, modeling dance steps, and offering encouragement throughout the evening. Most importantly, come ready to socialize, have fun, and build meaningful connections with the people Sunshine supports.

People with experience in things like social services, housing agencies, education, healthcare, government programs, office administration, or any role where they have experience assisting the public with multi-step processes will be great fits for this volunteer role. But no specific experience is required – we’ll train and support our volunteers.

Because guests may need assistance over several visits, we need volunteers who will become consistent, familiar faces at the Community Care Hub and who will treat this role as an ongoing commitment—not simply an occasional volunteer shift.

The 2026 Topgolf season will emphasize athlete development, expand opportunities to learn and enjoy the game of golf, and create meaningful pathways for skill building, friendly competition, and community engagement. Athletes will have the chance to grow their golf skills while participating in the fun, inclusive environment that Topgolf provides. Volunteers with golf knowledge or experience are preferred but not required. Volunteers will help ensure athlete safety between turns, provide guidance with foot placement, posture, and swing mechanics, and offer encouragement throughout the session. Most importantly, this is an opportunity to build relationships, have fun, and get to know Sunshine's Topgolf athletes while supporting them in developing new skills and confidence.

Come one, come all! Join us at Food City Center (Thompson-Boling Arena) at 5:00 PM for the Kerbela Shriners Circus! Volunteers will provide support to the people Sunshine serves by assisting with navigating to and from their seats, locating the restroom as needed, and helping purchase concessions if they choose to enjoy a snack. Most importantly, this is a wonderful opportunity to socialize, build connections, and get to know the amazing people Sunshine supports while enjoying an exciting evening at the circus together.

Join Fiery Gizzard State Park staff for our Tennessee Serves and National Public Lands Day event as part of the nationwide "Caring for Our Shared America" campaign and America250! By pitching in, you are helping generate the largest volunteer effort in U.S. history and connecting everyday service to the public lands that hold our shared history. 

We will meet at the Fiery Gizzard North Trailhead (131 Fiery Gizzard Rd, Tracy City TN, 37387) at 9:00am CDT and hike approximately 0.75 miles (1.5 miles round-trip) over moderate natural surfaces to the Grundy Forest Campground.

Once on site, volunteers will work together to help tidy up the campground, pick up litter, and clean out fire rings to keep our public lands clean and safe for future campers.

Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, dress for outdoor weather, and bring a plenty of water and snacks for a 3-hour hour workday. 
All tools and trash bags will be provided.

National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest one day volunteer event. This year it falls during a landmark year, America’s 250th birthday! What better way to celebrate than to give back to our public lands. This event also supports the First Lady’s TennesseeServes initiative. It is her belief that each Tennessean has the power to transform their community by finding an area they are passionate about and giving of their time, talents, and resources to make Tennessee a better place. 

Come join Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park staff to pick up litter around our park. Participants should wear close toed shoes and bring water. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. We will meet at the beginning of the Pathway of History near the Farmers Market at 9:00 am. See you on the Mall!

Join Ranger Jeremy at 8 AM on August 8th for a volunteer event to help rebuild the Scout Camp fence. Our Scout Camp or Pin Oak Primitive Group Camp is located next to Pin Oak Shelter 1 and host a plethora or scouts and groups. Recently our cedar fence that symbolizes the entrance to the camp has failed and fallen over and we want your help to rebuild it!

Through 2024, 2025 and 2026, Middle Fork Bottoms has been working with Toyota, NEEF, the Nature Conservancy, and others on a restoration project returning several areas in the park to a more native state. These projects have done well so far, but will require ongoing maintenance to ensure that we can be exemplary habitat for West TN native species. Join us and TN Serves this National Public Lands Day to help clean invasive and unwanted species out of our project fields!

Celebrate National Public Lands Day with a little bit of science and a lot of wet, soggy fun!

Join us on Public Lands Day for a unique citizen science project. A little bit of work, and a lot of wet, soggy fun, can help us better care for the water resources at YOUR State Park! First we’ll use simple test kits to measure water quality. Then we’ll wade into the creek and use nets to catch and get “up close and personal” with creek creatures. Be prepared to get wet & muddy! Wear old clothes and old shoes (please no bare feet in the creek, in case of sharp objects). This will be an official Tennessee Serves/National Public Lands Day event, and a part of an international effort called the EarthEcho Water Challenge. Through EarthEcho, we’ll join a network of citizens from more than 140 countries, and become part of the solution for clean water and healthy waterways worldwide.

Meet at the big parking lot uphill from Park Headquarters (former pool parking lot), and we'll carpool/caravan to the creek.

Join BFSP on Sunday, August 16th at 9 am for a volunteer opportunity that will assist the park in keeping it spectacular! Please wear weather appropriate clothing and closed toed shoes. Please bring your own water and snacks for the day. We will be working on clearing small saplings and invasive plants in the stretch of the River Trail between Middle Falls and Burgess Falls. All tools and safety gear will be provided by the park, but feel free to bring your own gloves or PPE.

The weeds can seem overwhelming, but as the saying goes, "Many hands make light work." Bring your family, friends, co-workers, teammates, neighbors, or anyone really that wants to help pull those pesky weeds from the beautiful garden area. Instructions will be provided to all volunteers that participate, and park staff will be available throughout the morning too for instructions or clarification/identification of anything. Some tools/gloves will be available for volunteers to use, but if you have your own tools/gloves that you would like to use please bring them along.

SturgeonFest 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Seven Islands State Birding Park. The event is scheduled for 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM and will take place at the boat launch area off of Kelly Lane. SturgeonFest is a fun and educational event where visitors can register to release a juvenile Sturgeon into the French Broad River and also learn about local area conservation groups. There will be booths set-up for local artists, businesses, and food trucks. Enjoy live music from the Tennessee Stifflegs! We are expecting a large crowd for this event and are looking for volunteers to help park staff with various tasks involved with the event. As part of our Mulch Crew, your group will assist in spreading fresh wood mulch around playground structures, garden beds, and park trees.

This hands-on, high-impact volunteer effort directly contributes to children's safety by maintaining proper shock-absorbing depths under play equipment, while also keeping Chattanooga’s green spaces healthy, vibrant, and welcoming.

In support of National Public Lands Day, volunteers will plan to board boats at Pebble Isle Marina to clear trash from the shores of Trace Creek. This area was severely impacted by debris from the 2021 Humphreys County Flood and is still recovering. Without cleanup efforts, this flood debris will remain and present an environmental threat to wildlife, degrade into microplastics, and negatively impact the viewshed adjacent Pebble Isle Marina.

All volunteers must register to participate online and complete the liability waiver. On Wednesday, September 23rd meet at Pebble Isle Marina at 2120 Old Johnsonville Rd, New Johnsonville, TN and follow the directional signs to the boat ramp. Volunteer check in will begin at 9:30am. Please wear clothes and footwear that can get wet and dirty. Knee high rubber boots are suggested. Tennessee State Park Rangers and support staff will serve as volunteer crew leaders. The event will be rain or shine unless of lightning or severe winds. Decision to postpone or cancel event will be made by 12pm Tuesday, September 22nd.

The Kingsport Public Library is seeking volunteers to work Mondays from 10-12 to sort and prepare Legos for our Lego Club. This task requires patience and attention to detail! You will be working closely with our children's programmer to make sure everything is organized properly and reset from the programs the week prior.

What We'll Be Doing

This volunteer day is all about transforming our new space into a welcoming community grocery store. Volunteers will help pick up from where the morning shift ended:

Whether you can give a few hours or stay all day, your work will have a direct impact on families throughout our community. No special experience is needed—just comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, and a willingness to lend a hand. Together, we're building a place where everyone can access healthy food with dignity.

Volunteer as a member of the Sprout Society at PWLSP!  We'll work on various plant related projects each month all around the park.  We'll have some basic tools and gloves, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.  We'll post more details about each month's Sprout Society project on social media and in the details on our park website.

Join East Ridge High School for a morning of service to help improve spaces used by our faculty and students. Volunteers will assist with cleaning, painting, and light facility improvement projects throughout the school.

We strive to provide clear, practical expectations that help us work consistently, protect instructional time, and keep students safe. We aim to ensure that every adult and student understand what strong supervision, communication, instruction, and follow-through look like at East Ridge High School.  

1. Kitchen Remodel - this kitchen is used by faculty everyday and students on Fridays for our student popcorn Friday celebrations.  We use these celebrations to reinforce positive behaviors that include expressing professional, polite, and productive behaviors.

Removing all dishes from cabinets, light sanding, painting cabinets/ boarder, cleaning & organizing.

2. Wood Workshop – Lifting Level: Light to Moderate

Volunteers may be asked to move small furniture, supplies, or equipment weighing up to approximately 25 pounds. This shop is used by students daily; however, years of accumulated materials and leftover supplies from previous courses and teachers have created a need for organization. Thorough cleaning and decluttering are essential to create a safe, functional, and efficient learning environment for students.

Supervision:
A designated East Ridge High School representative will be on-site throughout the project to provide direction, safety guidance, and project oversight.

Tools & Materials
East Ridge High School will provide:
Paint and painting supplies
Sandpaper
Cleaning supplies
Trash bags
Gloves (limited quantity)

Water will be provided for all volunteers.

Parking
Volunteers may park in either:
The front parking lot, or rear parking lot behind the school
Attire
Wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty or stained.
Closed-toe shoes are required.
Volunteers may wish to bring a hat for outdoor travel between buildings.

Accessibility
The work areas are located inside the school and are accessible through building entrances. Accommodations can be discussed with the site supervisor prior to the event.

Help us give the AIM Center Clubhouse a fresh, welcoming appearance! Volunteers will work together to refresh our landscaping by spreading mulch, removing dead plants, trimming shrubs and low-hanging branches, weeding, and completing other light outdoor beautification tasks. This is a great hands-on project that makes an immediate impact for our members and visitors. Bringing your own gardening gloves and tools (rakes, pruning shears, shovels, etc.) is highly encouraged.

We'll provide water and snacks to keep you fueled! Volunteer paperwork for AIM Center must be completed for approval.

Join us on Maclellan Island for some invasive plant species removal! We'll pick you up at the Erwin Marine dock, drive you to the island on our new pontoon boat, and provide tools if needed. Bringing your favorite tools or gloves for yard work is encouraged! We'll be chopping down plants like privet and bush honeysuckle, dragging them to a pile, and burning them if it is the appropriate season. This is not easy work. Please bring water and snacks, wear long pants, and wear closed toe shoes.

Help transform the checkout experience at our Soddy Daisy Thrift Store! Volunteers will paint the front of the checkout counter and help install a new NNH sign and logo behind the register. If time allows, the team will also organize merchandise and tidy up the sales floor.

The mission of Northside Neighborhood House is to uplift and empower our neighbors north of the river. For over 100 years, how we've accomplished that mission has evolved to meet our community's changing needs. Today, that includes direct assistance with rent and utilities, empowerment classes, our network of Community Schools, and newer long-term programming like Rooted Together. Proceeds from our Thrift Stores fund that work directly.

Lifting level: Light-moderate lifting (supplies, sign sections)

Parking: Available in the shared lot in front of our Soddy Daisy Thrift Store (located next to Food City).

What to Wear: Closed-toe shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty or painted.

What to Bring: Water bottle.

Supplies: All tools will be provided.

Help refresh the Red Bank Thrift Store! Volunteers will take on a mix of painting, shelving, and deep-cleaning projects designed to brighten the space and make it easier for our shoppers to find what they're looking for, with additional beautification tasks added as time and materials allow.

Supplies: All tools will be provided. If you have any of the following and would like to bring them, you're welcome to: paint brushes or rollers.

Help transform our Northshore Thrift Store into a brighter, more welcoming place to shop! Volunteers will dig into a mix of painting, shelving, and organizing projects throughout the store: think refreshed displays, a reorganized back room, and a few intentional touches along the way. Every task helps keep the store looking its best for the neighbors who already love shopping here, and makes things run even more smoothly for our team.

Parking: Available at the Thrift Store (209 Minor St.) and our office building next door (211 Minor St.). Street parking is also available. We do recommend car pooling when possible.

What to Bring: Water bottle and sunscreen (in case we spread out into our parking lot).

Supplies: All tools will be provided. If you have any of the following and would like to bring them, you're welcome to: paint brushes, rollers, drop cloths, or painter's tape.

Bledsoe Creek State Park is starting a new wildflower field adjacent to our Visitor Center! Join our team in weeding the field to give our seedlings the best chance through the summer heat.

We will meet at the Visitor Center at 9am on Saturday, August 8th. Bring water, sun protection, and any other products that help you feel comfortable while weeding! Ranger Abby will provide gardening gloves. 

Help clean our waterways by kayaking around Bledsoe Creek State Park.!

We'll be on the water for approximately 2 hours. Prepare appropriately for the day's weather by bringing sunscreen, bug spray, water bottles, and life jackets. We will meet at the courtesy dock located on Deer Run Rd.

We have very limited kayaks and life jackets to provide. If you would like to borrow one, you MUST contact Ranger Abby Wiseman at abigail.wiseman@tn.gov. If we run out, please contact Gallatin Kayak Rentals to rent one.
