Description

Volunteers needed at Bledsoe's Fort Historical Park. (We are not Bledsoe State Park, see the address below)

Work date: Saturday February 11th, 2023

Time: 10-3.

Where: Bledsoe's Fort Historical Park, 2901 Hartsville Pike, Castalian Springs, TN, meet at the pavilion.

Bring: Work Gloves, sturdy shoes, (no sandals), water, snack

If you decide to volunteer with us please know the work is all physical. You will be raking leaves, cutting and dragging branches, digging, standing, walking and you will get dirty.  If this is not work you are familiar with or are used to doing know that Bledsoe’s Fort volunteers will be leading and working with you, instructing you.   You will get water/snack breaks, as needed, but otherwise likely will not sit down for the hours you work. Please do not volunteer with us if you are not physically able to do this type of physical work.

Work being preformed: We will be cutting invasive species; bushes, scrub and small trees and pulling up the stumps with a tool. We will be dragging brush to an open field.  We will be shoveling mulch onto our new Bluebird hiking trail. You will be using a rake, shovel, loppers and stump tool. Tools are provided. Some walking across the field will be required.  You will get dirty. Please wear appropriate clothing and bring work gloves.

When you arrive you will fill out a Volunteer consent form.

We begin work on time at 10, so be there 15 minutes early. Please do not be late.

PLEASE RSVP THROUGH THIS SITE OR CONTACT ME.
