The mission of the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum, a property of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, is to promote understanding and appreciation of the history and culture of the Cherokee Indians in eastern Tennessee, particularly the life and contributions of Sequoyah. The Museum will collect, preserve, interpret, and exhibit objects and data that support this mission.

                                    What We Do
We tell the story of Sequoyah, and the Cherokee who lived in the Tennessee Overhill area. We have two free admission days a year and in September of 2025 we will hold our 34th Annual Cherokee Fall Festival. We have Native American and Appalachian artisans here demonstrating and selling their crafts, as well as a Civil War Battle portraying Thomas's Legion.
