Who We Are
Home Safe Horses is a nonprofit, Christ-centered horse sanctuary that provides a loving, safe place for the horses that call it home -- where children and families partner with the ranch horses to explore and experience God’s redeeming love while He remains at the heart of all that takes place here.
The ranch horses come from varying backgrounds, each with a redemption story. Some rescued from horrid conditions, others from starvation and abuse. Rarely, the ranch takes in an owner surrendered animal. Each provide session children, volunteers, and visitors with friendship and kindness in their own loving way according to their horsenalities.
What We Do
Sessions with horses for children and their families
The ranch offers free one-on-one sessions between a child, horse, and instructor. During sessions, children learn fundamental, yet important, natural horsemanship techniques that help them learn from their companion horses.
Sessions have one purpose – mentoring each child, but their parent or guardian are welcome to participate alongside. Sessions include many learning opportunities, games, light farm chores, animal caregiving, prayer, and learning natural horsemanship-based techniques. Ranch activities are weather-dependent and chosen at the discretion of the session leader through prayer and feedback of the child.
The horses need you!
The ranch requires many hands to make light work, but more important than the working with the ranch horses is ensuring their happiness, wellness, safety, and well-being. They have earned their position here because they partner well with children and, by the grace of God, have heroic survival and redemption stories that can teach all of us a thing or two. They are excellent examples of what unconditional love looks like, and what second chances look like.
Plus, horses love to work, especially with children! They want to be touched, groomed, spent time with, and play! For this, they need you. Won’t you join them live out their God-given purpose?

When you join one of the free programs on the ranch, you can share your love and friendship with the sanctuary horses, who are more than happy to return the favor. Plus, you gain opportunities to develop rich and nurturing relationships where confidence and trust are nurtured in a Christ-first, Christ-centered environment.
